Recipes and Tools – You Succeed With Outdoor Cooking

We humans are increasingly seeking a closer connection with nature. Being outdoors among forest and land has been shown to have positive effects on both physical and mental health. Not least because we move, but also because it affects our stress levels for the better - which many have now begun to prioritize and appreciate. Perhaps it is therefore not so surprising that cooking over an open fire has so quickly become a growing trend. Preparing a meal in the open air is no longer only for those who compete in outdoor cooking competitions - nowadays this has become an activity for the common man.

The right of way gives us the opportunity to discover a variety of beautiful places, and there is a great variety of meadows, patches of grass, forests and lakesides that can be just around the corner ready for us to take advantage of. But what should you think about if you want to take the step to outdoor cooking in these places? We've collected the best tips below, as well as the recipe for one of our super easy favorites when it comes to which dish to cook!

Outdoor cooking here is the equipment required

Step one is of course making sure you have the right equipment for the job, and trust us, it doesn't take much to make your meal a hit! One BBQ trancherset or grill tools such as grill tongs and grill shovel you get very far with. For those who want to keep it simple, the classic grilled sausage with bread or a juicy hamburger with accessories is always a safe bet, and then nothing more is needed than just this, together with a fire. Read more here about how you succeed with a perfect smashed burger - every time. However, a tip might be to bring some kind of kindling material, matches and a knife to facilitate the process of starting the fire.

However, don't forget that the taste from smoke, fire and embers can be a real flavor enhancer, for those who want to make it a little more advanced, you can of course take advantage of this. Another tip is therefore to prepare as much as possible at home in advance to make it easier once you are there. Chop, cook, marinate and cut up everything you can and then place in boxes or bags to take with you. Also make sure to pack a bag or two to throw rubbish and dishes in so nature is kept clean and nice. Then you can let your imagination run wild. Take out your grill utensils, hang up skewer with, for example, vegetables or game directly on the embers, let the fish get a little extra flavor from the smoke and cook the potatoes directly on the charcoal bed with skin to get a sooty surface but with contents that are ready to be eaten.
