Have you ever tried to clean a candle holder after a romantic dinner or cozy evening at home and noticed that it is downright impossible? We've all been there and know that it can be really frustrating when the melted wax refuses to let go. But don't worry! Removing wax from your candle holder doesn't have to be a complicated task. Just follow our three simple steps below to clean your candle holder from wax in no time!
How to remove wax from glass?
Step 1: Place the lantern in the freezer
If you have a lantern or similar with wax residue that refuses to come off, the first step is to place the lantern in the freezer for about 30 minutes. It is much easier to remove wax that is frozen, especially if there are thick layers of wax that have stuck.
Step 2: Gently scrape off the wax
After you have taken the lantern out of the freezer, it's time to scrape off the wax. Use a plastic spoon or something similar and scrape gently for a long time until all the residue is gone rather than doing it too quickly and breaking something.
Step 3: Clean the last wax residues
If there are still wax residues left on your candle holder, there is a final trick you can try. Namely, fill a sink with warm water and add a few drops of dish soap. Place the candle holder in the basin and let it sit for a while. The soapy water will soften the last wax residues and make it easier to remove. After a while, you can use a sponge or brush to scrub away the remaining residues.
If you follow these three steps, you should be able to remove all wax from your lantern and make it look new again.
