We at Dorre believe in making a difference by offering kitchen products that not only help you prepare delicious meals but also take into account our planet and future generations. Every decision we make considers sustainability aspects for both the company and the products so that both Dorre and the planet can thrive. We still have a lot to do in our sustainability commitment, but we have a strong drive to improve, and the work has only just begun.

Eco-conscious design:

Vi arbetar ständigt med att utveckla produkter och undersöker hur vi på bästa sätt kan använda oss av material som minimerar vår påverkan på miljön. Vi strävar alltid efter att våra produkter ska vara utformade för att vara långlivade och motstå slitage, vilket minskar behovet av frekvent utbyte. Ett tydligt exempel är att allt papp- & trämaterial ska t.ex. alltid vara FSC-certifierat.

Recyclability:

We strive to use recyclable materials in our packaging and products. By making it easier for our customers to recycle and reduce waste, we help to lessen our collective impact on waste management systems and contribute to a cleaner planet.

Production and logistics:

We strive to reduce our emissions and energy consumption by optimizing our logistics and transportation, including the choice of more environmentally friendly modes of transport. Our import of products is done by container via ship to the port of Gothenburg. From there, we use train transport and the very last leg to our warehouse is done by truck.

Sustainability in the kitchen:

We are proud to offer products that help our customers reduce their own environmental footprint in the kitchen. We strive to only use products that have a long life cycle and no single-use materials. Our products have a long lifespan when you take care of them and follow the care instructions that come with them. Products that reduce the need for single-use consumption contribute to a more sustainable lifestyle.

Sustainability training:

We believe that education is one of the keys to promoting sustainable behaviors. Therefore, we regularly share tips and advice on how our customers can reduce their environmental impact by taking care of their products instead of replacing them, a good example of this is our guide on how to sharpen your kitchen knives.

Premises and vehicles:

We are working to make our own premises and vehicles as environmentally friendly as possible. In our premises, we primarily use LED lighting to reduce energy needs, and soon solar panels will be installed on our roofs to become more self-sufficient in electricity. We have also largely abandoned direct electric heating elements in favor of more efficient air heat pumps.

Our vehicle fleet is mostly electric, but in cases where we do not have the option for pure electric drive, we use a hybrid variant to reduce carbon emissions and our impact on the planet.

At Dorre, we do not see sustainability as just a trend; it is a conviction we must actively work with. We are determined to create a more sustainable company and a sustainable future, where the kitchen is a place where good flavors meet awareness of the environment. Together with our suppliers and customers, we work to make the world greener, one meal at a time.
