How to make a perfect pesto at home with a few simple tricks
Don't compromise on flavors - use the right tools!
As with all other recipes, we could say that it all comes down to which ingredients you choose to use. Of course, this also applies to a good pesto! But it is actually possible to make a really good pesto for a low price, without compromising on flavors. All you need to do is use a mortar.
A successful pesto is made with a mortar
The difference in succeeding with your pesto lies in the texture - and you achieve that by using a mortar. The mortar allows you to extract maximum flavor from the ingredients you add to the mortar with the pestle (also called a pestle). Did you know that the word pesto comes from "pestare," which in turn comes from Italian and means "to crush"? Quite a coincidence, right?
Store pesto in the fridge for longer shelf life
To keep your pesto fresh for as long as possible, you can pour it into a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid and store it in the fridge. It will last for about 1-2 weeks there. If you want to enjoy your pesto for a longer time, you can also freeze it in small cubes. Perfect when you need a quick flavor boost for dishes like pasta!
