Classic Swedish tacos are a tradition to eat as a Friday dinner in many Swedish households and are almost as sacred as the meatballs on the Christmas table. One of the reasons it has become so popular with tacos is primarily that it is easy to make, but also that it is a simple dish to like because it can be made in so many different ways.
Coming home to or being invited to a nice taco night can be a relaxing moment after the work week or the kickoff for a great weekend. Here we have gathered our 3 best tips on how to maximize your taco night!
Tip 1. Have many different toppings for tacos
What do you have with tacos and what is really right and wrong? For some, the ingredients in the tacos are given while others like to experiment. Toppings like cucumber, lettuce, corn, onion, and tomato are classic ingredients, but the selection of what you can have in your tacos is endless and there is no right or wrong here. It is only you who sets the limits.
Our first tip is therefore to have many different taco toppings. The more, the better! And why not try some new ingredients? Some slightly more unusual toppings that are appreciated by many are banana and pineapple in tacos. It may sound scary, but try it yourself and give it a chance. Who knows, it might take your tacos to new heights and become your new favorite topping.
To make dinner even more fun if you have invited guests, you can assign each guest responsibility for one to two ingredients, either to bring or to prepare on-site. This way, you will have a wide variety of taco toppings and taco bowls on the table while also having the opportunity to experience new flavors.
Tips 2. Set the taco table with a lazy Susan
Our second tip for a successful taco night, which takes taco night to the next level, is to set up the tacos with a spinning trayUsually, a large part of the time around the table is spent passing and receiving bowls of ingredients so that everyone can build their own tacos. But with a rotating tray, you can avoid this and everyone can easily reach the ingredients from their seats. A taco tray is not only practical, it also looks very nice and is an easy way to upgrade the dinner table and taco night.
Tips 3. Treat your taco night with small dishes
Even though tacos themselves are delicious and appeal to most people's tastes, having some extra side dishes can make dinner even more enjoyable. Take the opportunity while you have family or friends gathered around the table and indulge in taco night.
Make some extra dishes alongside the tacos such as quesadillas, pimientos de padrones, or nachos with melted cheese, and you will definitely impress your guests and take your taco dinner to a new dimension. Since these are small dishes, they are also perfect to serve in a taco set with a rotating tray.
